Reuben Lim
Head Coach

Reuben Lim

A former national-level swimmer from Waikato, Reuben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science and a Silver-Level Coaching accreditation. He is the founder of Swish Performance, a coaching service where he trains and mentors swimming coaches and develops high-quality swimming programmes used by coaches across the team.

Reuben has been the Head Coach at Triton since its establishment in 2022, with a strong focus on developing high-performance athletes. He has also hosted swimming clinics internationally in Guatemala and Malaysia. Prior to Triton, he was the Assistant Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach at Jasi Swim Club from 2016 to 2022.

Jason Borea
Lead Assistant Coach

Jason Borea

Originally from South Africa, Jason has been with Triton since the club’s inception in 2022. His strong focus on skill mastery and attention to detail has played a key role in developing Triton swimmers into confident, competitive athletes.

Jason holds a Certificate in NZ Foundation Development Coach and a Certificate in SURGE Strength Dryland Training. He is currently working towards a Level 4 Personal Trainer Certificate, further strengthening his ability to support swimmers’ physical development both in and out of the water.

Jason is known for his positive energy and dedication to helping every swimmer improve their technique and reach their full potential.

Asher Lim
Assistant Coach

Asher Lim

Ash is a dedicated coach who brings a unique high-performance edge to all Triton swimmers. With eight years of service in the New Zealand Army, where he rose to the rank of Lance Corporal, and a New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor Experiences (Level 4), Ash developed exceptional skills in leadership, mental toughness, and training people to perform at their best under pressure.


He now channels this experience into helping swimmers of all levels build discipline, resilience, and a strong mindset — empowering them to train harder, overcome challenges, and get the most out of their swimming journey.

Ferdinando Verolino (Fred)
Assistant Coach

Ferdinando Verolino (Fred)

Originally from Napoli, Italy, Fred is a highly experienced coach with over 10 years playing competitive water polo and more than a decade coaching the sport in Italy. He holds a Level 2 Swim Instructor Certificate, a Level 1 Water Polo Coach Certificate from the Italian Swimming Federation (F.I.N.), and a T.M.A Autism Therapist qualification (Multisystem Therapy in Water).

Fred is deeply committed to helping every swimmer build strong technical skills, confidence, and a genuine enjoyment for the sport in a supportive and positive environment.

Stacey Morgan
Junior Coach

Stacey Morgan

A standout freestyle sprint specialist, Stacey represented New Zealand at the 2026 Oceania Swimming Championships, where she won multiple medals including silver medals in both the 50m and 100m Freestyle, and gold in the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay.

She was the 2024 New Zealand Short Course 50m Freestyle Champion (17–18 years), achieved silver in the 50m Freestyle and bronze in the 100m Freestyle at the 2025 NZ Open Championships (17–18 years), and still holds the Canterbury Short Course 50m Freestyle record (17 years).

Stacey is currently in her second year at the University of Canterbury, pursuing a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary). Her recent international experience and elite sprint racing knowledge bring valuable insight and inspiration to Triton’s swimmers.

Yufei Zhu
Support Coach

Yufei Zhu

Originally from Shanghai, Yufei studied economics at the University of Victoria in Canada before moving to New Zealand, where he completed his Master in Business Information Systems at the University of Canterbury. With experience living in both China and Canada, he brings a valuable international perspective to the team. Fluent in English and Chinese, Yufei plays a key role in supporting our Chinese-speaking families.
